What's a good hard drive recovery software?
My external hard drive died out of nowhere. I plugged it as usual and it didn't detect. So I disassembled the external and installed that hard drive into the desktop. When I boot up into windows it detects the hard drive but it shows as an unallocated drive.Is there any software free or for purchase that will allow me to see my data?
I need Free external hard drive recovery software for mac. any ideas?

my hard drive became corrupted, i downloaded stellar pheonix and it recognised my lost files, it will cost me $99 60 to buy, should i go for this one or another? all the free ones dont find all my filesthanks for your answers yes i tried recover, it didnt see half the files that phoenix did, im trying active at the moment

i have an older maxtor 300 GB external drive ...the partition was deleted from another computer but the files are still there .. i used a free trial sofware to see if they still existed..my question is ...since maxtor was taken over by seagate ... which software should i use to recover my files????which is the easiest recovery software to use to get the job done????will " seagate file recovery" work well for me??thanx in advance

Last night my second hard drive crashed and All the information was deleted i know not really deleted but the indexing was erased... I found the files using some buy now software that lets you look before you buy, and it s there, but i don't want to pay 100.00 for it, has anyone found some freeware shareware that will do it, or if i have to i can buy some, but the cheaper ther better.Let me say this again, i found plenty of software to buy $$$$$$$$$, I am not looking for that.. Wiped Entire Hard Drive, recovery software?
ok so i decided to clean up my hard drive by stupidly trusting windows vista and clicking the disc cleanup button... it somehow managed to compleantly wipe everything on the entire hard drive... i know this is recoverable however i wish to recover it " as it was" ... for example my music folder to simply re appear just as it was in the before vista went all " El Deablo" on me.. e.g the photos folder to reappear with the photos in it...does anybody know what software programs do this exact task? preferably free ones lol.any quick answers and ill leave you a quick 5 points for best answer, thank you
Hard drive recovery software: D drive corrupt?
Please do not attempt to answer this unless you are a techie or are sure you know what you are talking about I am a techie myself. QUESTION I have machine with 5 drives. One was perfectly healthy until I bumped the computer into something hard while it was running. Now the I get the message " F is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." I suspect a read or write error took place I don't believe the whole disc suddenly became corrupted. I would like to run some recovery software. I prefer to run it from inside Windows not at boot time . Can you recommend a software to use?

I have a hard drive with a lot of data on it my windows xp comp can't see.I downloaded recovery software, thought it was free but has very limited capabilities unless it is upgraded. The software sees the hard drive, sees the files but it costs and arm and a leg to purchase the upgrade really hate it when it says freeware but it ends up costing . I think this is a simple problem that the hard drive lost the hard drive map, or something like that and just needs it rebuilt.Do you know of a recovery software that is free? I mean, really free.Thanks for helping..
